The Gravana hood is fiberglass with real rolled edges, and features functional air vents and stainless steel grills inside and out. Each hood is created using an exclusive carbon-core process, and allowed to cure for a full 24 hours under vacuum. The aerospace inspired manufacturing method yields a hood that is three times stronger than the typical hand laid hood, while providing weight loss characteristics similar to carbon fiber. In fact, the Gravana Hood is approximately 40% lighter than the stock hood. (27lbs vs. OEM 45lbs!!!) This hood is fully functional and retains OEM latch points, and incorporates billet aluminum hinge and mounting plates for added strength. This hood comes unpainted and ready to prep for paint and utilizes the factory hood main latch and secondary safety latch. Gravana recommends purchasing a windshield washer upgrade, which clip-mounts to your windshield wipers. These nozzles perform more effeciently than the OE hood-mounted nozzles. The best nozzles are from late model Pontiac Grand Am and can be found through your local Pontiac dealer. The Ram-Air style vents allow air to travel from the outside of the car to an area above the airbox in the engine bay. This hood is truly the ultimate in style and function for the new GTO!
